First in this 3-CD set, four regions of México are represented in a selection that includes some of the most beautiful guitar music that can be heard in Mexico.The repertoire, all played by bands from the region who have directly inherited their music from fathers, uncles, grandfathers, etc., includes the outstanding boleros and chilenas from the Costa Chic played by the trio Los Molina; it includes the Zapotec Indian songs from the Istmo of Tehuantepec with memorable tracks by the Rios brothers and also includes the deep roots versions of son jarocho from Veracruz as well as the sones from Tixtla which are closely related to the music of the Costa Chica.
