Los Camperos de Valles - The Muse

The second CD by this outstanding trio was inspired by the vocalist, Marcos 'Hernández', desire to honour a local poet who composed the lyrics for the traditional sones included in this recording.

Serapio El Guero Nieto, a legend amongst musicians all over the Huastecan region, had received no public recognition for his verses until the release of this CD, shortly before he died. His elaborate tales of Turkish beaches, corrupt doctors, athletic women and well endowed baby boys are sung by Marcos Hernández, unrivalled vocalist in the Huastecan style, and Gregorio Solana, while the firey wirey violin is in the hands of the great Heliodoro Copado.
