Sones de Arpa Grande - El Ratón

In Western Mexico the days are hot and even the horses dance. The music is intense and still a well-kept secret.

Between the calls, in an impossible fasetto, of old men who sing of rabbits and women and their love of the land, the violins soar above guitars and a fierce beating on the sound box of the harp calls the public to dance.

This CD is a tribute to the great string bands of this region; bringing together recordings of bands most of which no longer exist but which have strongly left their mark and are still talked about and celebrated in the bars and brothels of Apatzingán, Nueva Italia and La Huacana.
