Included in this film is the purépecha Indian track 'Barrio San Francisco', composed by Ismael Bautista who, together with his band, Los Chapás, was filmed playing this song.

• The recordings 'Cancion de Orfeo' and 'He Venido' by Los Zafiros are featured in the U.S. movie "La Casa de los Baby's", released in 2003. The film features an impressive cast, including Kim Bassinger.

• The film "Volveras" by Antonio Chavarr’as, winner of the Festival de Mar de Plata, includes the song 'No me llores' played by the remarkable Cuban band 'Sierra Maestra'.

• The feature film 'Original Sin', starring Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie, features the composition by Alejandro Almenaris, 'Mueve la cintura mulata'.

• Disney animated film, 'The Emperor's New Groove' includes the mariachi classic 'El cihualteco', played and arranged by Jesus Reyes.

• A Putumayo CD compilation, 'Mexico' includes four tracks from the Discos Corason catalogue: 'Ra Bacheeza', 'La petrona', 'Son Huini' y 'Mediu Xhiga' all of which are outstanding sones sung in Zapotec from the South West of Mexico.
